Would a pegboard or a shallow drawer unit work better for organizing a small craft corner?

A shared living room has one compact desk for crafts. Supplies need to stay easy to reach during projects, but the area should look tidy when the desk is not in use. Wall space is available, though adding furniture would make the walkway narrower.
